Timing your treatments accordingly is important to ensure you are looking and feeling your best for the big day. Whether it’s a wedding, a corporate event or just a pre-Christmas glow-up, we recommend booking your appointments ahead of time.
All treatments take time to settle and see final results.
All treatments have the potential for bruising and swelling.
Bruising can last from a few days to a few weeks and healing time can depend on the healing time of the individual, tissue laxity, location, and size of the bruise.
Bruises are TEMPORARY and will disappear over time with no effect on your treatment.
If you are worried about bruising you can find more information here- All about bruising
It is important to schedule your beauty appointments and procedures accordingly to ensure the best possible outcome for your cosmetic treatment.
These include eyebrow waxing /tinting/threading, eyelash extensions, facials, dermal therapies, cosmetic tattooing, massages etc.
It is important that the treatment area is not manipulated, exposed to pressure, heat, or risk of contamination after a cosmetic treatment.
It may also be important that cosmetic treatments are not placed in an area that requires healing time after a beauty procedure and vice versa.
As a general rule, cosmetic treatments are best placed either two weeks before or two weeks after a beauty treatment, unless otherwise specified by your injector.
If you have any questions about specific treatments, please contact the clinic.
Please also take into account that your beauty treatment provider may have their own rules and recommendations in regard to cosmetic treatments. When in doubt, ask!
Travelling overseas directly after a treatment is not recommended.
Flying at high altitudes for extended periods can increase swelling to fresh hydrating and volumising treatments.
Aeroplane cabins are also known to be very dry and dehydrate the skin, which is the opposite of what we are trying to achieve!
In the unlikely event of a complication, it is important you are available to seek help and review from your treating clinician.
If you are travelling internationally, it is recommended that you do not have treatments in the 10 days prior to travel.
Flying domestically within Australia after an wrinkle reduction treatment is generally ok, however please always let us know.
As with any special or important event, it is best to plan your treatments 4-6 weeks prior to travelling, to ensure you are looking and feeling your best.
If you are feeling unwell, it is best to reschedule your treatment.
Having a chest or sinus infection, cough, cold or active cold sore can increase the chance of infection during a treatment.
Being unwell means your immune system is weakened, which can increase your chances of bruising and swelling, and make the healing process slower and more difficult. Additionally, if you are taking any short courses of medications such as antibiotics it is recommended to avoid treatments until you have finished the course of medication.
Due to the lack of research available, the risks with treatments during pregnancy and breastfeeding remain undetermined.
Therefore the use of treatments during this period are not advised and will not be administered.
Please ensure you have ceased breastfeeding completely before booking your treatment.
It is recommended to avoid volumising treatments two weeks before and two weeks after dental appointments.
Dental work releases bacteria into the mouth and blood stream that would not otherwise be present.
If you have an abscesses or infection in the gums or teeth, treating around the area has the potential to spread the bacteria, which can lead to an increased risk of infection.
Wrinkle reduction treatments are generally ok, however please advise your injector prior to your treatment.
If you have had any health changes or changes to any medications since your last treatment, it is important to disclose these changes with your injector prior to your treatment - even if you think it may be irrelevant.
Changes in health and medications are rarely a reason to not treat, however may be relevant as this could potentially affect the outcome or longevity of your treatment, and it is important that your injector discusses this with you.
If you have previously had facial herpes simplex (cold sores) at the injection site, treatments can provoke an outbreak.
Even if you have not had an outbreak for many years, the cold sore virus lays dormant in this area until it is aggravated.
Please let your practitioner know if you have ever had a cold sore in the area being treated and reschedule your treatment if you have an active cold sore.
If you do have a history of cold sores and you are planning on having a treatment in this area, it is recommended to take preventative measures prior to your appointment.
Antiviral preventative medications can be purchased over the counter from your local pharmacy.
It is advised to avoid volumising treatments two weeks before and after receiving a Covid-19 vaccine or booster, due to the potential for increased swelling.
Other vaccinations are generally ok, however this can depend on your individual health status so please let your practitioner know.
Weight loss medications, medications/supplements known to have a side effect of weight loss, or any medications that have the tendency to speed up your metabolism have the potential to reduce the longevity of your cosmetic treatment.
Excessive exercise or high amounts of physical activity can also reduce or restrict the longevity of treatments.
When weight is lost, particularly in large amounts, subcutaneous fat is also lost from the face resulting in volume loss and tissue laxity.
Additional treatments may be required to help you to restore volume and achieve your desired results.
Medical history and treatment consent forms need to be updated every 12 months.
You will also receive a form specific to any new treatment you have booked in for.
It is important that you read and complete these forms PRIOR to your appointment so we can assess your suitability for treatment, note any medications and/or health information changes and ensure your file is updated.
